What is the difference between hub motor and mid drive?

The most notable difference between hub drive and mid drive is the position. Mid drive is positioned in between your bicycle pedals. A hub motor however is a wheel that sits at the front or rear of your bike. This means your original bicycle wheel has to be replaced.

Mid drive motors are more expensive than hub motors, but it is more RPMS when used in conjunction with gears. If you're looking for peak performance responsiveness that gives a similar feel to a pedal bike, mid-drive motor serve the purpose better.

Howerver, if you need maximum assitance from the motor, hub motor will be the better choice.

What is the difference between front and rear hub motor?

When it comes to selection of hub motors, there are two options available - front hub motor or rear hub motor.

They both have pros and cons, generally speaking front hub motor are easier to install, while rear hub motors get better traction. It really depends on your personal preference.
