Hey I ordered the kit because I needed a new motor on the front wheel as it broke down it’s only been about just over a month and I’ve had the same problem it’s broken agian was just wondering if there is a warranty or if you guys could send me out another wheel with the front hub please??
Road Legal 250W 28"/29"/700C Front Hub Electric Bike Conversion Kit
Great kit, 700c for 29" tyre, relatively easy to install on new budget mountain bike. Needed a spacer washer on motor axle to clear fork on cable side, non-standard size (small OD, large ID) and had to manufacture it. Would have been helpful to have a couple included in the kit. The pedal assist sensor assembly was glued (JB Weld) to the bike's bottom bracket, but the sensor element protruded too far and fouled the magnet ring. Plastic sensor moulding fractured when removing it, so it had to be drilled and tapped, with corresponding clearance hole in the mounting bracket. Remounted using a spacer for clearance. Everything else seemed to go OK - you'll probably need more zip ties, get some decent thick ones. Thumb throttle not strictly legal in Australia but I fitted it anyway! (Display software can be modified to make it speed-limited/legit). Ordered a canvas waterproof pouch to house the controller and hide all the excess cable lengths - the supplied plastic enclosure is a bit too small. If fitting wheel to aluminium forks a torque arm is recommended, otherwise the dropouts will see the reaction-torque from the axle and might crack under the stress. BTW, You'll need a few specialised tools, e.g. crank puller. Kit is good value and I'd use it again. Makes for a very comfortable powered ride :-)
This kit has worked well for my bike. There are a few things that aren't the best (controller case has wrong screws so is unusable, plastic battery dock isn't the most secure, instructions are fairly basic), but given the price I'm fine with this. The bike runs well and the motor helps me up hills.
